IMDb API: IMDb ratings, IDs and movie data

kinodata serves movie and series data by IMDb ID — the one that starts with tt. One ID gets you the same title's IDs on Kinopoisk, TMDB and Kinorium, the IMDb rating and votes next to the other catalogs' ratings, and a card in English and Russian. It's plain REST with JSON responses and one key for every request.

kinodata is an independent service. It isn't the official IMDb API and isn't affiliated with IMDb or Amazon.

IMDb IDs to Kinopoisk, TMDB and Kinorium

One request by IMDb ID returns the title's IDs in every catalog. Here it's Inception, tt1375666:

IMDb rating and votes

In the card's ratings block, the IMDb rating comes with its vote count and a link to the title's page, next to Kinopoisk, TMDB, Kinorium, Letterboxd, Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic:

The best films by IMDb rating

The catalog sorts and filters by any source's rating and vote count. The three films with the best IMDb rating among those with over 500,000 votes:

Questions

Is this the official IMDb API?

No. kinodata is an independent service, not affiliated with IMDb or Amazon. We link one title's IDs across catalogs and gather its data into one card.

How much does it cost?

The Free plan gives 500 requests a day and 10 a second, no card needed. Basic and Business give more; see Pricing.

How do I find a film without its IMDb ID?

Search by title: /v1.3/titles?q=inception. Search forgives typos and finds a title by its name in another language. The response has the IMDb ID and the other catalogs' IDs.

What language are the responses in?

Both at once: every text field names its language (title_ru, title_en), and lang=en keeps English only. More in Response languages.
