Person card

GET/v1.3/persons/{type}/{id}

Who this is: names, dates, photo, biography, family, awards, trivia, roles across the career and best-known titles.

The card opens by an ID from any of the four catalogs: /persons/kp/41477, /persons/imdb/nm0634240, /persons/tmdb/525 and /persons/kinorium/476400 all return Christopher Nolan.

People’s IDs come in a title’s cast and in search. The card shows up to 12 best-known titles; every title with its roles is in the filmography.

Appearing as oneself (ceremonies, talk shows, documentaries about film) is a role of its own, self, and archive footage is archive. So Nolan’s roles read true: director on 19 titles, actor on 2, self on 90, archive footage on 12.

  • typestringrequired

The catalog the ID comes from: IMDb, Kinopoisk, TMDB or Kinorium.

Query parameters

  • fieldscsv

Which card blocks to return (person, roles, known_for, relatives, awards, facts, photos) and which person fields (as in search): fields=awards,birth_date returns the awards and the person with IDs and date of birth. Default:

    every block

    Example: fields=person,awards

Keep one language in the response. Without it, text fields come in _ru and _en pairs. More in Response languages.

    Example: lang=en

Response fields

  • personobject

The person: the same object as in search.

    Show 35 fields
    • imdb_id · kp_id · tmdb_id · kinorium_idstring | null

The person’s catalog IDs. Any of them opens the person card.

    • name_ru · name_enstring | null

Name in Russian and in English.

    • name_originalstring | null

The name in the person’s own language when it is written in neither Latin nor Cyrillic script: “宮崎 駿” for Hayao Miyazaki.

    • birth_namestring | null

The name at birth when it differs from the known one: “Christopher Edward Nolan”.

    • birth_year · death_yearinteger | null

Years of birth and death. death_year is null if the person is alive or the year is unknown.

    • birth_date · death_datestring | null

Dates of birth and death, as precise as the sources know them: 1961-10-21, 1961-10 or 1961. When sources agree, the more precise date wins; when they contradict, Kinopoisk wins, then Kinorium, then TMDB.

    • ageinteger | null

Age today, or at death. Only when the birth date is known to the day, and for those who have died, the death date too.

    • zodiacobject | null

Zodiac sign: a slug from the zodiac_signs set in /enums, with the labels label_ru and label_en. Only with an exact date of birth.

    • genderenum | null

      Gender: male or female.

    • birthplace_ru · birthplace_enstring | null

Place of birth. The Russian one is from Kinopoisk or Kinorium (“Лондон, Англия, Великобритания”), the English one from TMDB (“Westminster, London, England, UK”).

    • deathplace_ru · deathplace_enstring | null

      Place of death.

    • height_cminteger | null

      Height in centimetres.

    • nationalityarray

      Citizenship: code (ISO 3166-1), name_ru, name_en, like a title’s countries.

    • photo_urlstring | null

The main portrait, always one of photos_by_source: the first there is, in the order TMDB, Kinorium, Kinopoisk. TMDB has the largest pictures, Kinorium’s are 300 px, Kinopoisk’s 360 px.

    • photos_by_sourceobject

Each source’s photo: kp, tmdb, kinorium. TMDB pictures come in their original size on the card and 185 px wide in lists (search, cast): /t/p/w185/. For another size, replace that part of the link: w45, w185, h632, original.

    • professionsarray

Professions as the sources list them, values from the credit_roles set in /enums. How many titles each role really has is in roles on the card.

    • career_start · career_endinteger | null

Years of the first and the latest work, as Kinopoisk counts them. While the career goes on (the person is alive and the latest work is this year, last year or announced), career_end is null. For people who have died, career_end is no later than the year of death: posthumous releases and archive footage don’t extend a career.

    • genresarray

      The person’s main genres: slug, name_ru, name_en, like a title’s genres.

    • popularitynumber | null

Popularity on TMDB: it rises as people view and search for the person more. The scale is open-ended, so compare people with each other rather than with a threshold.

    • also_known_asarray

Other names and spellings: “Chris Nolan”, “Sir Christopher Nolan”.

    • tagline_ru · tagline_enstring | null

Who this is, in one sentence. Russian only for now.

    • linksobject

Every link to the person elsewhere, each a URL. Social networks under keys like x, instagram, facebook, vk, telegram, youtube, tiktok; website is their own site; wikipedia_ru and wikipedia_en are the Wikipedia articles; wikidata is the Wikidata page (the ID is its last part, Q38111). An empty object when there are none.

    • educationarray

Schools: title, a type from the education_types set in /enums (school, high_school, college, university; null when the source names the type otherwise) with the labels label_ru and label_en, note, year. In search, it comes only with fields.

    • biography_ru · biography_enstring | null

      Kinopoisk, TMDB and IMDb votes.

    • countriesarray

      Countries: code, name_ru, name_en.

    • genresarray

      Genres: slug, name_ru, name_en.

  • relativesarray

Family: spouses and partners, children, parents, siblings, marriages first. Each has a relation from the person_relations set in /enums and the labels label_ru and label_en, by gender when it is known (“Wife”, “Son”), neutral otherwise (“Spouse”); a spouse after a divorce is an “Ex-wife” or an “Ex-husband”. gender comes from kinodata or from the source’s own record of the relative. person is that person in kinodata (IDs and names), otherwise null. name_ru and name_en are the source’s name, filled in from person. The source doesn’t tell a stepmother from a mother or half-siblings from siblings. Marriages also have a status (married, divorced, widowed, the marriage_statuses set) with labels, children, married and divorced; relationships have from_year and to_year. Dates are like birth_date. With lang, a relative with no name in that language and no person is left out.

  • awardsobject

  • factsarray

“Did you know” trivia from Kinopoisk, all it has: text_ru, text_en and is_spoiler. Trivia is Russian-only: text_en is empty, and with lang=en the list is empty.

  • photosarray

Photos: url is the original, preview_url a 280 px high preview, width and height of the original, source.
